The Company
The company was founded by electronic engineer Georg Büttner in Esslingen (Neckar) on
1st April 1965 as a one-man business.
At the beginning the major scope of business was the development, production and
supply of electromechanical program control devices for industrial weighing and
dosing applications. The rapid growth of the company demanded the erection of a
modern administration/production building, which was completed in 1970 and still
serves as the international headquarters.
In the mid seventies, BÜTTNER started with the development and manufacturing of strain gauge force sensors (weighing sensors, load cells) for the use in industrial weighing and dosing machines. At the same time appropriate weighing and dosing electronics were also developed and manufactured.
In 1985 the company was re-structured and registered as a Limited
Liability Company. The Georg Büttner GmbH & Co. KG has since
been led by the married couple Georg and Edelgard Büttner, as
managing directors since.
The company expanded in 1995 by founding a subsidiary production and distribution facility in Malta. Since 2005 the son Martin Büttner acts as company director of Büttner Malta Limited and runs it together with a local chief executive.
The range of BÜTTNER products is divided into 3 major groups:
- Load Cells (Weighing Sensors, Load Sensors, Force Sensors)
- Weighing and Dosing Electronics (Weighing and Dosing Controllers)
- Elecronic Control Units for the Dedusting of Particle Filters
Besides the standard products, BÜTTNER can also supply customer- and applicationspecific solutions.
A motivated workforce, an efficient internal quality assurance management system,
linked with modern manufacturing and testing techniques guarantee the highest
quality level for BÜTTNER products.
With its over 40 years of experience in the fields of industrial weighing and dosing technology BÜTTNER is a competent, reliable, efficient and flexible partner for all its clients around the globe.
